OK, I finally got the damned update... I tried emailing POL, I tried looking on the internet to see how other people were doing, and I tried their GM support, and nothing worked except pure luck. Oh, and I tried doing it late before, from like 11pm to 3am, constantly hitting retry every time it gave me the error, with no results other than higher blood pressure and a sore finger. Square/Enix needs to take a look at all of the issues that people have had and fix it before they decide to pull this again. Oh, damnit, I almost cussed out the damn GMs, who kept giving me the same reply of "try again later" over and over. (I kept getting second opinions for about an hour solid) This game has support in-game, that's it, if you're not playing FFXI and encounter a problem, then they simply don't give a damn about you. I am still thinking about finding another online game to play in the next month or two; it's not that I don't like this game, in fact I love the game, its the damn people behind it that piss me off. If I'm going to PAY them money to play the game, then I want some kind of friggin' support. Oh, and did you notice that they said to call some long distance number instead of SCEAs toll free number that it gives you when you encounter an error message? Bastards. I hate people. Oh well, at least its over for the next two months... If the same crap happens again next time: I'm gone.
